Cosplay Timeline part 1

Its hard to believe, but this is only my third year of cosplaying! i can’t believe how many costumes i’ve made in the past couple of years. So i thought i would make a timeline of all my costumes so far.

First up is Decimo Espada Orihime

This costume has kind of an interesting story, The concept for the costume came from a super talented artist on DeviantArt.com who calls herself Peachery, she created an entirely new set of Espada using various non espada characters. After recieving her permission to use her design, My boyfriend’s mother and i created the top without the use of a pattern, we actually had to scrap the original version and remake it though. The mask and hairpin were made my partner in cosplay crime Nsomniacartist.

Next is Celestial Warrior Umi Ryuzaki from the Clamp manga/anime Magic Knight Rayearth. This costume was truly a labor of love, While i took care of the clothing, Nsomniacartist Made our armor. Very ambitious for our first costumes!

Still can’t believe how well these costumes turned out! I only wish we could have also had a Fuu with us as well.

Nsomniacartist and her amazing sword! she did an amazing job with our armor too! its really amazing what you can do with craft foam!

Night of the festival Rei Ayanami

I picked her up at ohayocon back in January, i’m hoping to pick up Asuka at Otakon in a few days!

She is only second Rei figure, which i find kind of funny since she is like my favorite character ever. But i’m hoping to expand my collection in the near future.

Her face is so moe, anyone would fall in love!

Sega LiveAlive Haruhi

Another of my awesome Otakon finds!

I really love the armbands, even though they weren’t part of the original Bunny outfit, i think they’re quite cute!

My only real issue with this figure is that the guitar refuses to sit properly in hand. Her bunny ears and outfit are also a bit too shiny.

1/8 scale Nagato Yuki

Yuki-chan is precious, she is  (so far) the most expensive figure in my modest collection. I bought her soon after purchasing haruhi ( which i now have two of.) I love that she included two very distinctive outfits, But i usually display her in just her normal school uniform.

Moda Bianca

I originally picked this figure up at Otakon this past summer.  I thought she was really cute, and she was only $20. it really was a win/win situation.  This is the second shoot i’ve done with her, this time i used my brand new camara instead of my mom’s moderately crappy one.

I have to admit that i”m much happier with this set,  I really think my photography skills are getting much better with every shoot i do.

So, I randomly decided to start a blog.

Seemed like it might be fun.

Nothing really interesting about me.

I’ve been working at gamestop since 2005, I’ve been cosplaying seriously since 20o7. My First real cosplay was Umi Ryuzaki from Magic Knight Rayearth.

The first con i ever attended was Otakon 2008 in Baltimore MD, Where in addition to Umi, i also cosplayed An original Bleach character Decimo Espada Orihime Inoue.

I’ve been watching anime seriously since high school.

Robot Anime has always been my Favorite, Evangelion is my all time favorite. Recently i’ve become a bit obsessed with Lucky Star, The melancholy of haruhi suzumiya and Gurren Lagann.

Video Games take up a huge amount of my time and money. Role playing games are definately my favorite, followed by two player fighting games and puzzle games. I never leave the house without my DS lite. Currently Persona 3 FES is owning my soul.

Recently i’ve been dabbling in photography. My favorite subjects are my figures. i definately don’t have a very impressive collection yet, but i look forward to expanding my collection.

I also have the most adorable 4 year old alive, who loves to play katamari with mommy, and an awesome boyfriend who willingly puts up with my otakuness, which is only rivaled by his own.
